October 11th - Art Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Awards Gala

This event is the Kick-off of to DisAbilities Expo Awareness Week! Join us and community leaders at the DisAbilities Expo's "See the World Through our Eyes" Art Exhibit and Awards Ceremony at Nova Southeastern University. Experience over 60 pieces of art by local disabled artists and enjoy light refreshments catered by ARC of Broward. Immediately following the ceremony, join us as we honor community advocates through the Broward County's Advisory Board for Individuals with Disabilities.


October 13th - Inspiration Runway!

In honor of Disabilities Awareness week, this runway show features touching stories from models with disabilities.The DisAbilities Expo is proud to reintroduce our Expo Fashion Show! Enjoy light refreshments and learn that there's more to life than fashion! For details, click Here

October 14th - White Cane Safety Day
Location: Broward Main Library: 100 S Andrews Ave. Fort Lauderdale Fl 33301

White Cane Safety Day celebrates the achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired. This annual event is to raise awareness of the meaning of the white cane and of the need for motorists to exercise special care for those who carry it. Call 954-442-1855 for details.

 

White Can Day is supported by The National Federation of the Blind and LIghthouse of Broward

From South of Griffin Road:  University Drive north approximately 2 miles past Griffin Rd. to SW 30 Street (Abe Fischler Blvd.).  Turn right (east) and continue to the North Entrance of the campus, Ray Ferrero, Jr. Blvd. and make a right.
